Upcoming Events with Mencap

Mencap Family Engagement Project are hosting a series of events and sessions for young people with SEND, along with their parents and carers.

From relaxed coffee mornings to nature-based adventures, these activities offer welcoming spaces to connect, learn, and grow together

The Mencap Family Engagement Project offers peer support to families of children ages 0-6 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or emerging needs within Tameside.

Coffee mornings at the Together Centre 10am -11.30am. All Welcome, no booking required.

  • Wednesday 5th November
  • Wednesday 3rd December

 

Nature Explorers at the LEAP Meadow Lane Allotment 10am – 11.30am. All Welcome, no booking required.

  • Thursday 30th October – Half Term Halloween Special

 

Stay and Play at St Peters Family Hub, Ashton 10am – 11.30am. All Welcome, no booking required.

  • Tuesday 28th October
  • Tuesday 11th November
  • Tuesday 25th November
  • Tuesday 9th December
  • Tuesday 23rd December

 

Splash Class – SEND Swimming, 6 week course at Aquanurture, Hyde 1.30pm- 2.30pm:

Every Wednesday starting on the 5th November until the 10th December. Booking a place on the course is essential. Contact the team for more details and to go on our waiting list.

Information Sessions:

  • Thursday 20th November: Disability Living Allowance Information and Drop-in session at Academy HQ. No booking required.
  • 12.30 – 1.30pm DLA Information presentation – an introduction to DLA and how to apply.
  • 1.30-2.30pm Drop-in session for anyone to come along for support with DLA forms or to meet the team and find out more about the project.
