Chat Autism and ADHD Anonymous Messaging Service from the Barnardo’s Neurodiversity Hub is now live. No diagnosis is required. Young people can get in touch themselves with or without support, or parents and carers can contact about a child or young person. The service aim to reply within 48 hours (9am-4:30pm Monday to Friday), and you’ll receive an automatic message to confirm they’ve received your text.
Your messages are stored and can be viewed by other Barnardo’s staff with authorised access who follow the same confidentiality rules.
They aim to reply to you within 48 hours, Monday – Friday (excluding weekends, bank holidays and three service development days per year), and you should receive an immediate message confirming they have received your text.
Text will only be seen between 9 am and 4.30 pm. If you’re worried about immediate safety, please call 999 or go to your local emergency department.
Their text number does not receive voice calls or MMS picture messages. They support messaging from UK mobile numbers only (which does not include messages sent from landlines, international mobile numbers and some ‘number masking’ mobile apps).
To prevent Barnardo’s professionals from sending you messages, text STOP to our number.
Messages are charged at your usual rates.
