Autistic Burnout Workshop

Cheryl Knupfer is the Strategic Lead for Autism in Stockport. Cheryl has over 25 years of experience in working with autistic individuals and their families from pre-school children to adults and is currently leading on Stockport’s first all-age autism strategy.
Greg Loynes is Inscape House School’s Assistant Headteacher for Admissions, Transitions and Outreach. Greg is abreast of current thinking around S E N D students and how best to meet their needs. Having worked in the field of S E N D education for over 2 0 years with an extensive background in autism & challenging behaviour, Greg leads on outreach projects with mainstream & special schools, numerous local authorities and regularly delivers training on a variety of S E N D topics.

Book Autistic Burnout Workshop
Autism and Eating Disorders

Janina Brede is a Clinical Psychologist and researcher with a particular interest in the intersection of autism and eating disorders. She currently works within a NHS CAHMS eating disorder service. Prior to her clinical training, she completed a PhD as part of the Study of Eating Disorders in Autistic Females (SEDAF) research project at UCL. Her doctoral research focused on identifying factors that might contribute to the development and maintenance of restrictive eating difficulties for autistic people, as well as examining their experiences in healthcare services to inform improvements to support.
Finty Royle, a fourth year medical student, received an autism diagnosis at 16 after years of struggling with anorexia. This diagnosis proved pivotal in her recovery, and she now recognises that many of the autistic traits that once posed challenges have ultimately contributed to her success.

Book Autism and Eating Disorders Workshop
Research Study Opportunity
Researchers at The University of Manchester are seeking volunteers to take part in research into balance and falls.
Are you:
- 18+ and autistic?
- able to express yourself well in verbal and written English?
- free from neurological movement problems e.g. Parkinsons, multiple sclerosis?
The study involves an online questionnaire using Qualtrics. The session will last approximately 30-60 minutes and you will receive a small reimbursement for your time. The researchers have obtained advice from the Autism Manchester expert by experience group during the design of this study and are from the Body, Eye and Movement (BEAM lab).
