Work and Skills: Inclusive Hiring Made Easy

Looking to diversify your workforce? Tameside Council’s ‘Routes to Work – Wage Reimbursement Scheme’ supports businesses in hiring local residents (anyone using routes to work with a disability is eligible for this scheme). This initiative offers both financial and practical support during a 13-week trial period, with the aim of transitioning the employee into a permanent role.

What’s in it for employers?

● Salary reimbursement for up to 36 hours/week for 13 weeks
● Job matching to help you find the right candidate
● On-the-job support from experienced employment officers
● Positive social impact and enhanced reputation
● Fresh talent and new perspectives
● Staff development through mentoring opportunities

To qualify, employers must:

● Offer a safe and suitable workplace
● Pay at least the National Living Wage (or National Minimum
Wage based on age)
● Submit signed timesheets and payslips
● Commit to the scheme’s terms and conditions.
