Following the success of our co produced Sensory Support Frameworks for Primary and Secondary, we made a commitment – alongside ISCAN and Sadie from Sensory Pie – to develop a dedicated sensory support framework for Early Years children.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Tameside Umbrella Parent Carer Forum (TUPCF) groups who supported this work, and to all the parents and carers who generously shared their experiences, insights, and what they needed. Your voices have been central to shaping this framework, and your contributions have helped ensure it is practical, meaningful, and grounded in real family life.

We are delighted to share the Early Years Sensory Support Toolkit with you now. We are confident you will agree that this toolkit is a valuable and practical resource to support young children with sensory differences – both in Early Years settings and within your homes, where sensory needs can impact many aspects of everyday family life.

To help bring the toolkit to life and support families to use it confidently, we are offering a series of online evening sessions for parents and carers. These sessions are designed to be supportive, practical, and accessible, and we would warmly encourage you to attend if you are able.

Online sessions available

Tuesday 19th May | 6:00–7:00pm

    •  Introducing the Early Years Sensory Foundations Toolkit – PART ONE
    • An introduction to why the toolkit was developed and how it can be used confidently within early years settings and at home.
    • Register here

Tuesday 26th May | 6:00-7:00pm

  • Sensory Foundations & School Readiness – PART TWO
  • Exploring how early sensory foundations support independence, learning and successful transitions into school
  • Register here

Both sessions will be delivered online and are open to parents and carers.

Please find the Early Years Sensory Support Toolkit here.

While the toolkit can be used independently, many parents and carers find that attending the sessions helps build confidence and understanding, and brings the guidance to life in a meaningful and reassuring way.

We very much hope you can join us for what we believe will be a supportive, practical, and empowering set of sessions.
