Samuel Laycock School Rated Outstanding

Pupils and staff at Samuel Laycock School in Ashton are celebrating having been rated Outstanding by Ofsted in their recent inspection.

The school, which is part of New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, was graded Outstanding in most areas. Headteacher, Helen Wilson, is grateful for the staff team’s dedication and commitment to Samuel Laycock’s young people.

“We are delighted at the turnaround of the school, especially for our pupils and families in having access to an outstanding provision in the local area.”

The school’s curriculum features a variety of ‘pathways’ where practical skills are taught including digital, horticulture and food, allowing pupils to experience lessons and activities that are relevant to their areas of interest and linked to future career paths. Pupils follow these pathways alongside their other areas of learning and take part in a range of work experience opportunities.

CEO of New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, Clare John, said; “This is a true reflection of the fantastic offer that is on display at Samuel Laycock, all the way through the year, and so it feels like a very well-deserved pat on the back for everyone associated with the school.”
