PET therapy, yoga and a monster disco are some of the new activities on offer at Tameside Libraries to help promote the service to people who are neurodivergent.
The initiative, led by Tameside Council, is encouraging access to library services and resources through a series of free events.
The Neuroinclusive Libraries Project is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all the community. While events are tailored to be accessible to neurodivergent individuals, they are open to everyone. There will be events for all age ranges, as well as sessions aimed at parents and carers of people who are neurodivergent.
All events, which are Arts Council funded, are free of charge, but some may require booking.

In addition to these events, Tameside Libraries will introduce new resources and accessibility aids across its branches to further support neurodivergent individuals.
Tameside Council Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture Cllr Leanne Feeley said: “The launch of The Neuroinclusive Project is an incredible initiative as we work towards providing support for all individuals within our community. Our libraries should be a welcoming and accessible space for everyone.
“We want all to feel supported and tap into the variety of resources that are there to help. We’re encouraging everyone to take part in the activities and make the most of this inclusive initiative.”
