The Tameside Umbrella Parent Carer Forum (TUPCF) celebrated a special milestone on Saturday, 27th September, with their very first Family Fun Day at the Grafton Centre in Hyde. The event was a big success, attracting nearly 100 families from across the borough.
Local organisations joined in to support the day, running stalls, demonstrations, and sharing useful information for families in Tameside.
The purpose of the event was to give parent-carers the chance to meet the forum’s volunteers, learn more about the support available, and share feedback on what they would like to see offered in the future.
Ruth Williams, Secretary of the Parent Carer Forum, said:
“This was such a lovely child and parent-focused event. The kids absolutely adored walking the goats and seeing the therapy dogs. It was great to see lots of networking going on and something gained for all who attended. Thank you everyone who attended and to the volunteers for such a successful day.”
Following the success of the fun day, organisers are looking forward to planning more events that connect families with local support services – while making sure parent-carers’ voices remain at the centre of it all.
